ROMA!!!

Just a quick check in.  The hostel I am at charges for internet, frown face!

Gemma and I arrived in Rome yesterday.  Berlin was really cool!!  The history behind the Berlin Wall and the divide betweed East and West is still very evident in this city.  It is crazy to think of all the people who lost their lives trying to escape across the border or who were trying to help others escape and the fact that the wall was only torn down 20 yrs ago (or 30 can't remember...)!!  You can still feel the differences between East and West but in a different way.  The eastside of Berlin has a lot of modern structures, and architectual buffs dream while the West feels older.  There was a lot of money and focus in to giving the eastside a face lift due to the fact that so many of the building were bombed and had been let fall apart and become completely dilapidated.  Now mostly all you can see of evidence of the old Baroque buildings is only sections or small portions that somehow survived.  There are a lot of artists in Berlin and a lot of "alternative" art, it is very cool.  Not to mention a very fun night life!!  We met up with a group of Swedes traveling and all went out one night, it was SO much fun!!

Yesterday Gemma and I left Berlin to come here.  It was very stressful because we didn't really give ourselves quite enough time and when we go to the airport there was the biggest line to get your ticket that I have ever seen and it didn't move!!  But we managed to make our flight thank god!!

Rome is E-MAZING!!!!  It is really hot here but I don't mind it so much, kinda reminds me of Florida.  A big group of us from the hostel hung out and socialized here in the lounge then went out, it was so much fun! I met people from all over!!!  It was great fun and there are so many people out at night!!

Today I went to the Colleseum and walked through the Roman ruins and it was absolutely spectacular!!!  The Romans did not screw around, omg!!!  Pics coming!!  :)
